La Onda Troncones Launch Party
save the date December 1
A relaxed, early-evening gathering on December 1 at Quetzal Café, starting around 6 pm, celebrating the debut of the magazine with friends, visitors, contributors, and local business owners.

GET BEHINDÂ THE SCENE
Save the date...Monday, December 1. We’re creating a community “hello”—an intimate, beautiful and community-focused event, more like a sunset social than a fancy party. It will be open to the public, and we’re expecting a lively, mixed crowd of locals and visitors who embody the spirit of Troncones.
This location holds special meaning for us. Quetzal is part of the same family space as Fanny, the curandera featured in our magazine. Downstairs, her daughter Zali runs our favorite Quetzal CafĂ©, her charming, newly renovated restaurant. Upstairs, her sister JazmĂn has a carefully curated gift shop across from Fanny’s traditional herbal pharmacy. Together, the three businesses create the perfect setting for an evening that celebrates the onda, the wonder, of Troncones.
We’re planning a street-food-inspired theme with small bites—mini quesabirrias, tacos de canasta, esquites, and maybe even the infamous tostilocos—along with fresh-fruit aguas frescas and a few light local drinks.
The overall vibe will echo La Onda’s handmade, quirky aesthetic—simple details, flowers, candlelight, and the warm feel of a community gathering. One of our sponsors, SANTU, will set the tone with their candles—adding light, scent, and a sense of ceremony.
We’ll also introduce our initial La Onda Troncones merchandise—t-shirts, bags and more—and have a few raffle-style giveaways, with proceeds benefiting the Majahua schools, as well as some crafty and silly activities for all ages. Kids and pets are welcome.
The evening will be a mix of Troncones—a celebration of creative energy, healing traditions and community connection.
Get in the onda! See you there!
