Tucked behind the garden wall of Casa Nube Rosa in Majahua, The Bungalow is low, dark, geometric and modern. Two bedrooms face each other across a 3-by-7-meter pool that's at the heart of the property. You can roll out of bed and into the water. The bathrooms are outdoors, wrapped in gardens, and the whole place opens to the sky while staying completely private.

‍

Where Casa Nube Rosa next door is white, soft and full of arches, The Bungalow wears black. Its creator, Aura Winarick, La Onda’s co-founder and a former private chef, thinks of the two as bride and groom. The gardens, planted by her husband Benito Vilá, tie them together.

‍

Guests mention the same things: the quiet, the space, the gardens, the comfort of the beds. You can hear the Pacific from here, Majahua is a short walk away, Boca de Lagunillas is nearby, and the mountains rise in the distance. It feels secluded without feeling isolated.
