APCAT — Asociación Para La Conservación Ambiental de Troncones, A.C. is a homeowners association and community organization dedicated to supporting the development of a sustainable Troncones.
Founded in 1999, APCAT focuses its work within the boundaries of the Ejido General Emiliano Zapata and has played a central role in bringing essential infrastructure and services to Troncones. Early efforts concentrated on establishing core utilities and public works, including electrical and telephone lines, a community water system, garbage collection, and public lighting and signage. Over time, the organization has also helped expand Wi-Fi access and improve road conditions, laying the groundwork for steady and responsible growth.
Because rural areas in Mexico often lack sufficient public works support, APCAT fills a critical gap by coordinating and funding improvements that might otherwise not exist. Its work extends beyond infrastructure to include regular roadside cleanup, drainage and waste system maintenance, and assistance for the local medical clinic and ambulance services.
These ongoing projects help ensure that Troncones remains a clean, functional and welcoming place to live and visit.
APCAT also acts as an important bridge between residents, the local ejido and other municipal authorities. Thanks to its active involvement and consistent investment in community projects, the organization is frequently invited to participate in discussions and decision-making processes that shape Troncones’ future. This collaboration helps align development efforts with community priorities and ensures that growth remains thoughtful and sustainable.
Today, APCAT continues to play a vital role in maintaining and improving essential services, strengthening infrastructure and advocating for community needs. Through collective effort, member support, and long-term commitment, it helps safeguard the quality of life in Troncones—now and for generations to come.
