GOVERNMENT
Each town has a municipal commissioner (comisario). This is the closest thing to a local mayor—the person people go to for community issues, disputes, permits, and coordination with the municipality.

EJIDO
You will hear the word "ejido" often. It refers to the local collective that manages the region’s shared land and water.
In Troncones, the ejido committee handles things like:
— drinking water service
— land measurements
— certain local disputes
— community infrastructure
‍
The ejido house is where water is paid and where official lot plans are kept. Office hours are generally mornings, Monday through Saturday. Meetings are usually the first Sunday of the month.
