You’ll need pesos in Troncones, Majahua and Saladita. It’s rare that anyone takes dollars or any other currency. Not every business takes credit cards. Most restaurants do take credit cards, but not all. Ask before you order.

The only ATM in Troncones is at Maria’s on Main Street. Sometimes, it runs out of money (in high season, mostly). There is also an ATM at La Hacienda in Saladita. There are ATMs in Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo.
